Most Anticipated #NCBD Releases 8/27/14

Another HUGE week, so here’s the Top 5 (+1) books I’m looking forward to this week!

Wildcard: Futures End #17

This book has really started to heat up, and we get a glimpse at Superman (or whoever it really is under that helmet) in this issue, so it's near the top of the read pile for me this week!

5: X-O Manowar #28

Armor Hunters has been amazing, and the true history of the Armor Hunters is revealed in this issue!  If you haven't tried Valiant comics by now, then I don't even know who you are anymore ;)

4: Guardians of the Galaxy #18

Let's see what we have here: McGuinness art? YES! The fate of Richard Rider (Nova)? YES!  The Cancerverse? OMG, YES!  This looks to be the best issue of GotG yet, and Bendis said that 19 will be EVEN better! Can't wait :)

3: Black Science #8

Do you need a reason for this book? I don't think so, it's Black Science, that's all you need to know.

2: Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor #2

Issue 1 was the first Doctor Who comic I ever bought (that and the Eleventh Doctor #1, since they came out together), and I like what they're doing!  The story was enough to hook me, and the art was fantastic! Sorry, that's the Ninth Doctor's catch phrase.  Well, Allons-y! (there, that's better)

1: Superman #34

You probably knew that my love for Superman, Geoff Johns, and JRJr would be at the top (again), but I can't help it!  This book has been everything I've wanted from Superman since the New 52 launched, and I can't help that I'm still a fanboy (nor am I sorry that I am) :)

Wildcard: Multiversity #1

I know, I know...NO #1s! I just couldn't help myself, though! I've been looking forward to this book for YEARS, and at least it's my "wildcard" because it isn't a known commodity (yet). Deal with it, it's my blog :P

5: The New 52: Futures End #16

I have to say, after catching up this last week, I'm really digging this book, and can't wait to find out who is under the Superman mask!

4: Supreme: Blue Rose #2

Ellis and Lotay hooked me with issue one, and it definitely has the "cool factor!"  Beautiful art and a compelling story will get you everywhere!

3: New Avengers #23

Let the aftermath commence! Best Avengers book that doesn't really star any "Avengers." Really, this book should've been call Illuminati, but who cares, it's AWESOME!

2: Manifest Destiny #9

I can't go on about this book enough, so I won't say much more than YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK!

1: Batman and Robin #34

The Robin Rises arc has me glued to my tablet! Some of the best Batman you can find right now, IMO!

Another HUGE week, so here's the Top 5 (+1) books I’m looking forward to this week!

Wildcard: Wolverine #11

This Wolverine arc has been one of the more enjoyable Wolverine runs in recent memory, and I'm curious to see where it goes!

5: Hulk #5

With a new writer jumping on board, seems like the perfect time to give this book another shot. Not that I didn't enjoy it before, just looking for something different.

4: Inhuman #3

Always worth the wait for some Joe Madureira art! Love Soule's writing too, so the wait will pay-off (I hope!)

3: Astro City #14

Speaking of "worth the wait," Astro City NEVER disappoints! I don't care how long each issue takes, when you get this kind of quality!

2: Ghosted #12

I've said enough about this title over the last few months, so it should come as no surprise that it ranks as highly as it does on my "read pile." I'm not even going to give a reason, just read this book!

1: Batman #34

If Batman isn't reason enough, add the amazing art of Matteo Scalera (Black Science) to the Dark Knight, and you have a "MUST READ" in my book!

Without further ado, here are the Top 5 (+1) books I’m looking forward to this week!

Wildcard: Rocket Raccoon #2

Such a fun book! So many other great books coming out today, though, that this one has to take the "wildcard" slot.

5: Green Arrow #34

I've been raving about this book for months, and with this team's run coming to a close soon, I'm very sad. Hopefully they can team up on another DC title in the future, because Lemire & Sorrentino are a great team!

4: Miracleman #9

This is probably the most controversial book in comic book history, with the accurate (albeit graphic) depiction of child birth.  Loving this book as a first time reader!

3: Earth 2 #26

Taylor and Scott have created one of my new favorite characters in Val-Zod, Superman, and this issue is the show-down between the old and new! Can't wait!

2: Miles Morales: The Ultimate Spider-Man #4

Just look at that cover! Looks like "show-down" between old and new is a recurring theme this week :)

1: Superior Spider-Man #32

MORE SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN!!! And it leads directly into the Spider-Verse saga! Hopefully we get to see more of Spidey-Ock after Spider-Verse is over, too :)
